NORFOLK, Va. (March 28, 2024) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) revealed its tennis weekly accolades where Howard University freshman standout
Imani Jean (Brooklyn, N.Y.) took home Rookie of the Week for the third time this season. The announcement came Wednesday morning.
Jean went a perfect 3-0 in singles play during the annual MEAC Round Up (March 22-24) in Cary, N.C., winning all three contests decisively in two sets or less. In doubles competition, she went 2-1 with teammate junior
Nadia Pegram (Naples, Fla.).
The New York native is 8-3 in singles play, currently riding a four-match win streak. In doubles, she is 8-6 overall with Pegram.

Justin Cadeau (West Orange, N.J.) received honorable mention after their performances at the MEAC Round Up.
Norfolk State senior Gabriela Davidescu was named MEAC Women's Player of the Week.
For the men, North Carolina Central junior Hugo Hidalgo Vega was selected MEAC Player of the Week while Norfolk State freshman Deniz Okyay earned Rookie of the Week.
On April 5, Howard hosts Delaware State in a MEAC showdown at the Banneker Recreation Center in D.C. First serve is set for 3 p.m.
