STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. (December 13, 2024) – Howard University men's track & field team earned a pair of victories in relays at the annual Seahawk Shootout, hosted by Wagner College in Staten Island, N.Y.
Graduates
Goba Dan-Princewill (Houston) and
Abraham Evans (Virginia Beach, Va.) and fifth-year seniors
Ezekiel Hawkins (Lithonia, Ga.) and
Zachary Hawkins (Lithonia, Ga.) represented HU in the 4x200, winning the event with a 1:27.23 time.
The 4x400 relay team of graduate
Noah Langford (Virginia Beach, Va.), junior
Dylan Gaines (Houston) and rookies
Cameron Brazell (Houston) and
Elijah Grant (Fort Mills, S.C.) won gold, clocking in at 3:14.89.
Individually, Langford and Z. Hawkins placed second (7.97) and third (7.98), respectively, in the 60-meter hurdles while Dan-Princewill finished runner-up in the 60-meter dash (6.84).
In the field, senior
Chase Drewery (Waldorf, Md.) took home gold in the triple jump, leaping over 49 feet (15.00 meters).
Fellow classmate
Sean Wray (Stafford, Va.) competed in the long jump, earning second place (7.18 meters).
On Jan. 10-11, HU returns to action at the Rod McCravy Invite, hosted by the University of Kentucky.
