HOWARD
Howard (4-4-4, 3-1 NEC) won its third consecutive NEC match against Saint Francis (SFU) Thursday (Oct. 3), 2-1. The Bison will be healthy and rested after a week off, seeking to extend its win streak.
Achieving a valiant comeback, scoring two beautiful goals in the second half while giving SFU its first conference loss of the season. Senior
Melea Earley (La Mirada, Calif.) tied the contest, followed by the game-winning goal from rookie
Gabriella Garcia-Terrell (Centreville, Va.).
The Bison have been picked to finish third in the preseason, led by longtime head coach
Brent Leiba, who is in his 15
th year.
MERCYHURST
The Mercyhurst Lakers (2-8-3, 1-1-2 NEC) enter with a road tie, 1-1, at FDU (Oct. 3). The Laker's Karah Van Horn scored at the 16-minute mark.
Mercyhurst is projected to finish eighth in the Northeast Conference (NEC), led by head coach Rich Wall.
LAST TIMEOUT
Thursday (Oct. 3), the team rallied from a halftime deficit, knocking off SFU, 2-1, while extending its win streak to three.
Senior
Koa Goodchild (Southampton, Bermuda) and sophomores
Samantha James (Herndon, Va.) and
Asia Mickens-Perez (Upper Marlboro, Md.) each registered an assist in the road victory.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
On Oct. 17, Howard will be headed back on the bus to Staten Island, N.Y., to face Wagner College. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
