ST. ANDREWS, Scotland (October 16, 2024) – Howard University golf program traveled across the pond to St. Andrews, Scotland where they competed in the St. Andrews Links Collegiate.
Both squads finished fourth overall in the event.
On the men's side, fifth-year Bison
Marcus Smith Jr. (Rockford, Ill.) and sophomore
Mathis Perroni (Metz, France) tied for 16
th place after shooting 8-over par.
For the women, second-year Bison
Emily Mayne (Kingston, Jamaica) led the way with a 15
th-place finish (+7). Fellow classmate
Paris Fieldings (Chesapeake, Va.) took 18
th overall with a 11-over par performance.
Arizona won the 2024 Men's St. Andrews Links Collegiate title after firing even par, led by Zach Pollo, who won the individual medal (-5).
Northwestern claimed the women's championship after posting a 4-over effort. Ashley Yun guided the Wildcats, earning first place in the player leaderboard (-5).
On Oct. 21-23, several Bison go to Nichols Hills, Okla., for the Jackson T. Stephens Cup.
