KATY, Texas (April 1, 2026) – Howard University women's golf team took home its third straight National Collegiate Championship Wednesday afternoon after shooting 37-over par (889) in 54 holes of action. The three-day event (March 30-April 1) was held at the Golf Course at Cinco Ranch (par-71, 6,922 yards) in Katy, Texas.
Four Bison finished in the Top 10, led by reigning NEC Player of the Year junior
Paris Fieldings (Chesapeake, Va.). The Virginia native shot 7-over par (220), finishing third overall on the player leaderboard.
All-NEC selection senior
Morgan Horrell (Dallas) tied for fifth place, firing 12-over par (225), while sophomore
Lena Durette (Scottsdale, Ariz.) recorded a 226 (+13), tying for seventh overall.
Rookie
Mia Melendez (Ann Arbor, Mich.) rounded out the Bison, tying for ninth place (227, +14).
Southern (SU) finished runner-up behind the Bison (906, +54), followed by Jackson State (920, +68).
SU's Salma Ibrahim won the individual title after registering 5-over par (218). Carmen Fletcher (Alabama State) finished a stroke behind Ibrahim for second place (219, +6).
On April 17-19, Howard heads to nearby Ellicott City, Md., for the 2026 NEC Championships
