BRIDGEWATER, N.J. (April 5, 2023) – The Northeast Conference (NEC) revealed its golf weekly honors where Howard University saw a pair of Bison acknowledged for their outstanding efforts during the week of March 29 through April 4. The announcement came Wednesday afternoon.
Senior
Everett Whiten Jr. (Chesapeake, Va.) and sophomore
Kendall Jackson (Pearland, Texas) swept the weekly accolades, earning men's and women's golfers of the week, respectively.
At The Goodwin (March 30-April 1), hosted by Stanford University in San Francisco, Whiten shot 1-over par (211) during the three-round event, including back-to-back 69 rounds (73-69-69). For his efforts, the Virginia native tied for 24
th among the 155 entries.
For Jackson, the Texas product tied for seventh among 63 golfers at the Ironwood Invitational (April 3-4), hosted by East Carolina University, in Greenville, N.C. She shot 1-under par (215) during three rounds, averaging 71.7 strokes per round.
Both Bison were also named to the NEC Prime Performers.
On April 8-9, Whiten and the men's team continue its slate in Princeton, N.J., for the Princeton Invitational, hosted by the Tigers.
On April 10-11, Jackson and the women's team head to Baltimore for the Lady Bison Invitational, hosted by Howard.
