COLUMBIA, Mo. (September 23, 2025) – Howard University women's golf team earned seventh at the annual Johnie Imes Invitational, hosted by Mizzou. The event took place at The Club at Old Hawthorne (par-72, 6,264 yards).
Due to inclement weather, the scheduled 54-hole tourney was cut to two rounds (36 holes) with Tuesday's action being cancelled.
Despite the conditions, HU managed to shoot 28-over par (604) with a pair of Bison finishing in the top 20.
Sophomore
Lena Durette (Scottsdale, Ariz.) led the Bison, firing 1-over par (145) and tying for eighth place.
All-NEC selection senior
Marley Franklin (Los Angeles) rounded out the top 20, tying for 18
th on the player leaderboard (148, +4).
Reigning NEC (Northeast Conference) Player of the Year junior
Paris Fieldings (Chesapeake, Va.) posted a 154 (+9) while senior
Morgan Horrell (Dallas) recorded 16-over par (160) in 36 holes of action.
Mizzou won the 2025 Johnie Imes Invitational (562, -14), finishing 11 strokes better than SEC rival Kentucky (573, -3).
Individually, the Wildcats' Cathryn Brown took home first place (137, -7), outlasting the Tigers' trio of Melanie Walker (138, -6), Ebba Liljeberg (139, -5) and Addie Dobson (142, -2).
The Bison look ahead, competing in the Navy Fall Invitational (Oct. 4-5).
