WASHINGTON (September 22, 2025) - Howard University women's golf continues its fall season at the annual Johnie Imes Invitational (Sept. 22-23), taking place in Columbia, Mo. The two-day, 54-hole tournament will take place at The Club at Old Hawthorne, hosted by the University of Missouri (Mizzou).

HISTORY
This will be the 17
th time Mizzou has hosted this tournament, winning nine times since 2007. That same year, the tournament was named after the late Johnie Imes, a devoted supporter of the Missouri women's golf team.
Day One (Sept. 22) features the continuous play of 36 holes (two rounds). The next day (Sept. 23), the tourney wraps up with 18 holes.
TOURNAMENT PREVIEW
The Club at Old Hawthorne is a private golf course, located in Columbia, Mo. The course annually hosts events for the Mizzou men's & women's golf programs.
This year's tournament features teams from 14 different schools: Howard; Mizzou; Cincinnati; UAB; South Dakota State; Kentucky; Murray State; North Alabama; Nebraska Omaha; Missouri State; Morehead State; South Dakota; Wichita State and East Texas A&M.
Representing Bison Nation are
Lena Durette (Scottsdale, Ariz.),
Marley Franklin (Los Angeles),
Mia Melendez (Ann Arbor, Mich.),
Morgan Horrell (Dallas) and
Paris Fieldings (Chesapeake, Va.). Second-year golfer
Laniah Moffett (Waterbury, Conn.) will be competing as an individual and will not count towards the team score.
LAST TIMEOUT
On Sept. 3-4, Howard opened the fall season with a second-place finish at the Bridgestone Collegiate Invitational.
Franklin led the charge, firing 4-over par (220) while earning second place, and Melendez tied for fourth on the player leaderboard, recording 10-over par (226).
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
