WASHINGTON (February 9, 2023) – Howard University men's tennis team look to redemption themselves when they host crosstown rival UDC (University of District of Columbia) Friday (Feb. 10) at the Washington Tennis & Education Foundation's East Capitol Campus in Southeast D.C. Match time is slated for 3:45 p.m.

Sunday (Feb. 5), the squad fell short on the road at Temple, 0-7, at the University of Pennsylvania (Feb. 5), following their season opener nail-biting loss versus Saint Francis (Pa.), 3-4.
 
With that, the Bison launched their spring campaign with an overall 0-2 record.
 
Reigning Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Week second-year Bison Marcel Dawson (Columbus, Ga.) proved to be stiff competition in his doubles match, alongside teammate Justin Cadeau (West Orange, N.J.), before suffering a close loss, 6-1.

This Friday's match marks the UDC Firebirds first of 14 regular season contests in the 2023 spring season. They are hoping to have a strong start in the spring campaign.
 
UPCOMING SEASON
 
On Feb. 12, both squads travel to Bethlehem, Pa., to face Lehigh. The action begins 10 a.m. for the men, followed by a 2 p.m. start time for the women.
