ORANGEBURG, Sc. - The Howard University women's basketball team will look to get back on the winning track when it takes on the Bulldogs of South Carolina State Monday at 5:30 pm at the Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
The Lady Bison are coming off a 56-51 road loss at North Carolina Central on Saturday. Howard (12-13, 8-4 MEAC) got a team-high 16 points from all-conference guard
Destiny Howell. The junior added a career-high eight rebounds. Senior forward
Brooklynn Fort-Davis recorded a double-double of 10 points, 12 rebounds but graduate guard
Aziah Hudson, who came into the game as the team's second-leading scorer (11.2 ppg), played only 19 minutes and scored a season-low two points.

Nile Miller (four blocks, six rebounds) and senior forward
Krislyn Marsh (11 rebounds, three blocks) all contributed but the Bison shot 25-percent from the floor and converted on a season-low 4-of-12 from the free-throw line in the second half and 11-of-20 overall for the game. Howard came into the game ranked second in the MEAC at 71-percent from the charity stripe.
South Carolina State (3-24, 2-10 MEAC) come into the game having dropped four in a row, including Saturday's 69-41 loss to Norfolk State. The Bulldogs are led by sophomore guards Nicole Gwynn (10.9 ppg, 30 assists) and Lovely Sonnier (8.8 ppg, 8.1 rebounds, a team-leading 42 steals).
SERIES RECORD: The Bison won, 67-35 on January 30 in Burr Gymnasium and has won five in a row and seven of the last eight to lead the series, 11-6, dating back to 2008.
NEXT UP: Howard has a big showdown with conference leader Norfolk State University in a Senior Day matchup on Thursday, March 2 at 6 pm in Burr Gymnasium.
