FAIRFAX, Va. (October 9, 2023) – Howard University women's tennis team closed out the weekend with another solid performance at the Hidden Dual Invitational where they cruised past George Mason.
In doubles competition, sophomore
Selah Stibbins (Minneapolis) and rookie
Imani Jean (Brooklyn, N.Y.) knocked off Mason's Dana Edson and Cenan Liu, 6-3.
Third-year Bison
Sifa Butcher (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) and newcomer
Lauren Oliver (Winston-Salem, N.C.) blanked the Patriots' Maitree Diksha Rout and Lakshya Motam, 6-0.
The freshmen duo of
Hanna Dessie (Los Angeles) and
Sofia Lindholm (Sarasota, Fla.) outlasted George Mason's Avleen Warach and Mailys Faur to secure HU's third doubles win of the day, 7-5.
In singles play, the Bison locked up seven singles victories with five ending in straight sets.

Jordan Grayson (Gaithersburg, Md.) and
Nadia Pegram (Naples, Fla.) and freshmen
Ava Chambers (Wellington, Fla.) and
Dana Hall (Miami) all secured wins in their respective singles contests.
HU continues its fall slate in Baltimore for the Greyhounds Classic (Oct. 13-15), hosted by Loyola (Md.).
