Bison Place Second Overall at HU-USF Collegiate Invite

POTOMAC, Md. (September 27, 2022) – Leading Howard Men's golf to a second place overall finish, senior Gregory Odom Jr. (Memphis) earned his second consecutive win this season at the HU-USF Invitational. The event, sponsored by Amazon Web Services and PNC Bank, welcomed nine top universities with elite competition.

The Bison maintained a strong showing throughout the event carding their best round Monday afternoon (+14,288). The team ended the day in a tie for second place with George Washington University. After finding three top three finishes in Odom, Everett Whiten Jr. (Chesapeake, Va.) and Marcus Smith Jr. (Rockford, Ill.), the Bison pulled ahead +37 (877) to the Colonials' +40 (880) on the final day.

Registering back-to-back rounds of -1 (69), Gregory Odom Jr. (+3, 213) jumped from a two-way 17th place tie to a lone first-place finish. Whiten and Smith were not far behind. The two deadlocked in a four-way tie for second after posting four over par (+4, 214).

The University of San Francisco won the event (+26, 866) by 11 strokes with their top two players coming in a four-way tie with our own.
