ELLICOTT CITY, Md. – Howard University men's golf captured its third consecutive NEC conference championship title, continuing its dominance since joining the league in 2022-23.
The Bison finished atop the leaderboard with a three-round total of 861 (+9), pulling away from the field after opening the tournament with 282 (-2) in round one. Howard followed with rounds of 295 (+11) and 284 (E) to secure the title, finishing seven strokes ahead of second-place Long Island University (868, +16).
Individually, junior
Bear Huff (Riverside, CA) led the way for Howard, finishing second overall with a three-round score of 211 (-2). Huff delivered consistent play across the tournament, carding rounds of 69, 73 and 69.
Junior
Mathis Perroni (Metz, France) also delivered a strong performance, tying for fourth at 216 (+3), highlighted by a tournament-low 68 (-3) in the final round. Junior
Marlon Jones added a top-15 finish, tying for 14th at 220 (+7), while junior
Francisco Perez (tied for 20th, 222, +9) rounded out Howard's top contributors.
As a team, the Bison placed three golfers inside the top 18 to earn All-Tournament honors.
With the victory, Howard earns the NEC's automatic bid to the NCAA Regionals. The Bison will learn their regional destination when selections are announced on Wednesday, May 6. NCAA Division I Men's Golf Regionals are scheduled for May 18–20.
