KANNAPOLIS, N.C. (April 7, 2026) – Howard University men's golf team wrapped up regular season at the annual Irish Creek Collegiate, hosted by Appalachian State, where the Bison placed seventh overall. The two-day (April 6-7), 54-hole event took place at The Club at Irish Creek (par-71, 7,002 yards).
Collectively, the Bison shot 31-over par (883).
Junior
Francisco Perez led the charge, finishing 2-over par (215) while tying for 13
th place.
Fellow classmate
Mitchell Grey (Mississauga, Canada) tied for 39
th on the player leaderboard after firing 11-over par (224).
Junior
Mathis Perroni (Metz, France) registered a 225 (+12), tying for 47
th overall.
No. 9 Catawba College won the 2026 Irish Creek Collegiate, shooting 4-over par (856). Appalachian State finished two strokes behind for second place (858, +6), followed by Old Dominion (859, +7).
Ignacio Zapata (North Carolina A&T State) grabbed the individual crown (208, -5), edging out Paul Esnault (Catawba) by one stroke (209, -4).
On April 214-26, HU competes at the NEC Championships in Elliott City, Md.
