(September 26, 2022) – Howard University men's golf team continues with another strong showing after the first day of the Howard-USF Collegiate Invitational, sponsored by Amazon Web Services and PNC Bank, shooting 581 (+21) through two rounds. The squad is tied second with George Washington University and hold three top 10 spots.
Going two under par (68) in the first round, senior
Everett Whiten Jr. (Chesapeake, Va.) held a three-way tie in the top spot early on. Newcomer
Marcus Smith Jr. (Rockford, Ill.) held steady, shooting par (70) in the first round, followed by one over par (71) in the second. The two lead the Bison in a two-way tie for fourth place.
Senior
Gregory Odom Jr (Memphis) jumped to a top 10 finish after shooting one under par (69) in the second round.
Benjamin Patridge leads the way, recording four under par (136) after two rounds. San Francisco leads the pack by 20 strokes (561, -1).
The Bison close out the event Tuesday (September 27) at TPC Potomac and Avenel Farm.
