LAFAYETTE HILL, Pa. (May 4, 2022) – Howard University women's golf team took fifth overall at the PGA Works Collegiate Championships after shooting 111-over par (975) in the three-day tournament.
All-NEC selection freshman
Kendall Jackson (Pearland, Texas) finished eighth overall in the event, shooting 237 (+21) in three rounds.
Senior
Kendel Abrams (York, Pa.) tied for 15
th, recording a 244 (+28), while sophomore
Morgan Taylor (Ellicott City, Md.) shot 30-over par (246), landing her tied for 19
th.
Rookie
Makenna Rodriguez (West Palm Beach, Fla.) produced a 253 (+37) in the three-day event while fellow classmate
Jada Richardson (Suwanee, Ga.) rounded out the Bison, registering a 256 (+40).
Texas A&M Corpus-Christi (TAMCC) won the event, shooting 49-over par (913). Delaware State (DSU) finished runner up (927, +63), followed by North Carolina A&T State (959, +95).
TAMCC's Lucie Charbonnier took home the individual title with a 225 (+9) performance, outlasting DSU's Anna Ferreyra-Heit by one stroke (226, +10).
Howard wrapped up its first full season of competition under Director of Golf
Sam Puryear and looks to build on this year.
