ROCKVILLE, Md. (April 9, 2022) – Howard University women's golf team completed the first two rounds of the Hoya Invitational, hosted by Georgetown University, where they sit 13
th overall after 36 holes.
Freshman standout
Kendall Jackson (Pearland, Texas) leads the Bison, shooting 14-over par (80, 78) after two rounds of play.
Fellow classmate
Makenna Rodriguez (West Palm Beach, Fla.) recorded a 171 (+27) in 36 holes, followed by newcomer
Jada Richardson (Suwanee, Ga.) and sophomore
Morgan Taylor (Ellicott City, Md.) with scores of 175 (+31) and 176 (+32), respectively.
Senior
Kendel Abrams (York, Pa.) rounded out the Bison, producing a 184 (+40).
After shooting 57-over par (345) in round one, the Bison improved 10 strokes in round two with a 335 (+47) mark.
Princeton leads the pack, shooting 22-over par (598), followed by Boston (606, +30) and Harvard (609, +33), respectively.
Princeton's Kyung Eun Lee and Tiffany Kong are tied among the individual leaderboard, posting 1-over par (145) after two rounds of play.
HU concludes the weekend with the final round Sunday (April 10) at the Woodmont Country Club in Rockville, Md. The final round commences at 9 a.m., with a shotgun start.
