NORFOLK, Va. (March 23, 2022) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) revealed its women's bowling all-academic team where five Bison were acknowledged for their efforts inside the classroom. The announcement came Wednesday.
 
Seniors Janae Bradford (Chicago), Moriah Brown (Knoxville, Tenn.), Jahnia Phillips (Elmont, N.Y.) and Jayla Webster (Woodbridge, Va.) and junior Vanessa Johnson (Chicago) were among the 41 student-athletes from the conference's nine bowling-playing institutions who have achieved academic success.
 
"Congratulations to our women's bowling All-Academic student-athletes," MEAC Commissioner Sonja Stills said. "As we celebrate the 50^th anniversary of Title IX and the opportunities it has presented to women, it's important to remember those opportunities extend beyond the realm of competition. These young ladies are not only excellent athletes, they are also outstanding students."
 
MEAC sophomore, junior and senior student-athletes with a 3.0 or better cumulative grade point average (GPA), as well as transfer student-athletes who have been in residence at the institution for at least one year, are eligible for All-Academic accolades.
 
On March 25-27, Howard goes to Virginia Beach, Va., to compete for a MEAC Championship.
