Adebiyi Leads the Way at the JMU Invitational

Senior runner finishes with another top 10 performance

NEW MARKET, Va. (September 18, 2021) – Howard University men's & women's cross country teams competed at the JMU Invitational, hosted by James Madison, where senior runner Ayoade Adebiyi (Virginia Beach, Va.) led the way.
 
After a record-setting performance at the Mount 5K Duals (Sept. 3), the Virginia native recorded another top 10 performance in the 8K run with a seventh-place finish, clocking in at 26:42.50.
 
Freshman Cameron Kennedy (Austin, Texas) took 22nd overall with a 28:40.20 mark while fellow classmates Marsellis Davis (Columbus Ohio) produced a 29:01.80 time (28th overall).
 
On the women's side, newcomer Camille Egbula (Simpsonville, S.C.) finished with a 22:09.30 time (43rd overall), followed by rookie Joslyn Crosby (Bossier City, La./22:59.80/49th) and junior Breanna McDonald (Bethesda, Md./23:01.70/50th).
 
George Washington's James Glockenmeier and Allison Horwitch won their respective races.
 
On Sept. 25, Howard travels across the bridge to Princess Anne, Md., for The Shore Invitational (formerly known as the Cappy Anderson Invitational), hosted by Maryland Eastern Shore.
