LANDOVER, Md. (February 28, 2020) – Howard University juniors
Jessika Gbai (Philadelphia) and
Ozioma Scott (Georgetown, Guyana) and sophomore
Kameron Davis (Miami) each qualified in their respective finals at the 2020 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Indoor Track & Field Championships, held at the Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex in Landover, Md.
Gbai, who made the 200-meter final yesterday, reached for the women's 60-meter dash final with a 7.60 qualifying time. Saturday's race is slated for 1:50 p.m.
Scott clinched a spot in the women's 800-meter final after edging out teammate senior
Oluchi Ike (Upper Marlboro, Md.), clocking in at 57.18. Saturday's final is slated for 2:10 p.m.
Davis won his 60-meter hurdles heat with an automatic qualifying time of 8.19, which was third-fastest in the prelims. The South Florida native is scheduled to compete Saturday (Feb. 29) at 1:20 p.m.
Other noteworthy performance included the women's distance medley relay squad of senior
Sydney Benson (Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich.) and freshmen
De'ja Dade (Dallas),
Breanna McDonald (Bethesda, Md.) and
Dasia Wilson (Philadelphia) placing fourth overall with a 12:31.46 mark.

Saturday's action will begin at 9:30 a.m. with the women's pole vault. The first running event will be the women's mile at 12:30 p.m.
Admission for the MEAC Indoor Track and Field Championships is $20 Saturday (Feb. 29). Tickets are available at the Prince George's Sports & Learning Complex on the event dates.
