WASHINGTON (September 21, 2018) – After a week away from competition, Director of Track and Field
David Oliver and the Howard University Men's & Women's Cross Country teams return to action for the Eastern Shore Invitational.
Saturday's (Sept. 22) meet begins with the women's 5K at 10:30 a.m., followed by the men's 8K. Admission is free and open to the public.
LAST TIMEOUT
On Sept. 8, the Bison took fourth overall at the James Madison Invitational in New Market, Virginia.
Sophomore
Destiny Stanford (Woolwhich Township, N.J.) and freshman
Gavin Williams (Dover, Del.) led the way, each with top 20 finishes. Stanford finished 16th in the 5k race after posting a 21:13 mark while Williams clocked in at 28:00 and placed 20th overall in the 8k event.
MEET PREVIEW
The event will take place at The Pavilion, located on the campus of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore. The start/finish line will be in between the Lexus Driving Range and University Terrace.
Teams competing in the event include Howard, Maryland Eastern Shore, District of Columbia, Delaware State, Morgan State, Wesley, Hampton, Bowie State, and Seton Hall.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
Director Oliver and the Bison continues its season in Fairfax, Va. for the Mason Invitational. The race starts 10 a.m.
