SMYRNA, Del. (November 2, 2024) – Howard University freshman
William Shepherd (Plano, Texas) wrapped up his rookie campaign Saturday afternoon at the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Cross Country Championships, earning All-MEAC recognition for his incredible performance.
The Texas native competed in the 8K race, clocking in at 26:18.30 while taking 14
th overall.
The top 15 finishers were named All-MEAC.
DMV native and fellow classmate
Paul Robinson (Bowie, Md.) came in 16
th (26:39.20), just missing the team by one spot.
Overall, the Bison finished fourth with four runners placing in the top half.
Newcomers
Adams Odhiambo (Melissa, Texas) and
Habtamu Epley (Chicago) placed 22
nd (27:11.70) and 23
rd (27:15.70), respectively.
Norfolk State (NSU) won the 2024 MEAC Men's Cross Country championship for the fifth consecutive year (17
th overall). NSU's Kenneth Giles was named the Men's Championship Outstanding Coach.
North Carolina Central finished runner-up, led by Meshack Kuyo, who won the individual title with a record-breaking performance (23:18.20).
