WASHINGTON (April 22, 2018) – Howard University Women's Tennis team dropped its regular season finale against George Mason, 4-3, at Banneker Recreation Center.
 
Junior Kindha Nasef and freshmen standouts Nathalie Finch and Yassmine Khiri each won their respective singles matches.
 
Nasef defeated George Mason's Kayleigh Hahn in straight sets (6-3, 6-0) while extending her winning streak to six.
 
Finch won her third consecutive singles match, knocking off the Patriots' Sydney Green in two sets (6-4, 6-2).
 
After dropping the opening set to George Mason's Brianna Gibbs, 4-6, Khiri bounced back to win set two, 6-3, and then cruised to her fourth straight victory with a 6-1 decision in the third and deciding set.
 
Despite HU's success in singles competition, the Bison's demise came in doubles play as the Patriots swept all the matches.
 
Before today's match, Coach Larry Strickland and Howard Athletics recognized lone senior Sajela Harlow for her hard work and commitment to the program and university. The team's MVP received an 18x24 poster, along with flowers and gifts from teammates, family, and friends.
 
Next stop for Howard is the MEAC Championships in Norfolk, Va. Date, opponent and time is to be determined.
