WASHINGTON (April 19, 2018) – After nearly two weeks away from the court, Coach Larry Strickland and the Howard University Men's Tennis team return to action where they will take on Richmond in their regular season finale. Match time is set for 3 p.m.
 
MATCHUP PREVIEW
 
For HU (1-13), they are seeking to break its brief two-match slide before heading to Norfolk, Va. for the conference tourney. Howard secured a spot after knocking off rival Coppin State, 4-1, in Baltimore. Junior Karim Shokeir, sophomore Cole Gittens, and freshman Roger Lyn each have two singles victories on the year.
 
Richmond (11-9) enters Friday's showdown riding a three-match winning streak, including a narrow 4-3 victory against Villanova on Senior Day. In April, the Spiders are 4-1 with their lone loss coming at George Washington, 4-3.

Tuesday (April 10), the Bison suffered a setback in Newark, Del. when they fell to the University of Delaware (UD), 4-0, at the Delaware Field House Outdoor Courts.

Next stop for Howard is the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championships in Norfolk, Va. Date, opponent and time is to be determined.
