WASHINGTON (March 31, 2018) – Coach Larry Strickland and the Howard University Women's Tennis team grabbed its first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) win of the season by defeating Norfolk State (NSU), 4-1, at the Banneker Recreation Center.
 
HU (4-7, 1-1 MEAC) dominated doubles competition, sweeping all three matches while taking a 1-0 advantage into singles play.
 
In singles competition, juniors Nicole Hutchison, Christina Joynes, and Kindha Nasef each won their respective singles matches in straight sets.
 
NSU's (2-6, 1-1 MEAC) lone point came when Dajana Cvjetkovic downed freshman Nathalie Finch (6-4, 6-3). The Florida native missed her last outing due to injury.
 
Wednesday (April 4), both squads travel to Baltimore to face Coppin State in conference play. First-serve is scheduled for 2 p.m.
