WASHINGTON (March 29, 2018) – Freshman Roger Lyn and junior Karim Shokeir won their respective dual matches, but the Howard University Men's Tennis team fell to Duquesne, 5-2, at Banneker Recreation Center.

Lyn entered as HU's top singles player where he knocked off Duquesne's Adam Blasinsky in a tiebreaker (7-6 [7-3], 2-6, [10-3]) for his second collegiate victory.

After dropping the first set, 4-6, Shokeir rallied to take set two, 7-6 (7-2), and then defeat the Dukes' Chris Corrao in the tiebreaker, 10-3.

In doubles competition, Shokeir and sophomore Sagar Raju served as the Bison's No. 1 doubles squad where they dropped a tough match to Duquesne's Andrew Ong and Dominic Lea, 7-5.

Saturday (March 31), Howard resumes conference play against Norfolk State. First-serve is set for 1 p.m. at the Banneker Recreation Center.
