ORLANDO (March 13, 2018) – Howard University Men's Tennis team were downed by conference foe North Carolina Central (NCCU), 6-1, at the USTA National Campus in Orlando.
 
Sophomore Cole Gittens scored Hu's lone point in a losing effort, defeating NCCU's Sebastian Bromley in straight sets (7-5, 6-1).
 
After earning his first collegiate victory yesterday, freshman Roger Lyn served as the squad's top singles player where he fell in three sets to North Carolina Central's Theo Kontopoulos (7-6 [8-6], 2-6, 6-7 [8-10]).
 
In doubles competition, junior Karim Shokeir and sophomore Sagar Raju dropped a tough match to the Eagles' Kontopoulos and Maksym Konovalov, 6-7 (7-3).
 
Howard returns to action Friday (March 16) where they will take on Chicago State in a neutral site match. First-serve is slated for 11:30 a.m.
