WASHINGTON (February 21, 2018) – Coach Larry Strickland and the Howard University Women's Tennis team go to Richmond, Va., where the Virginia Commonwealth (VCU) Rams await. Thursday's match starts 3 p.m.
 
MATCHUP PREVIEW
 
HU (1-3) looks to bounce back after a 7-0 decision in favor of James Madison. Before the season, Howard was predicted to finish fourth in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Northern Division after tallying 118 points and four first-place votes. This season, freshmen Nathalie Finch and Yassmine Khiri and junior Nicole Hutchison each have won conference weekly honors.
 
VCU (6-2) enters Thursday riding a four-match winning streak while remaining undefeated in February (4-0). Anna Rasmussen comes in as the Rams' No. 1 singles player. This season, she is 10-2 overall and has won her last six matches.

On Feb. 10, the Bison were unable to make it two-in-a-row as they were blanked by James Madison, 7-0, at The Washington Tennis & Education Foundation's East Capitol Campus.
 
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
 
HU continues its road swing in nearby Annapolis, Md., where they will face Navy. Match time is scheduled for 2 p.m.
