WASHINGTON (February 10, 2018) – Howard University Women's Tennis team was unable to make it two-in-a-row as they were blanked by James Madison (JMU), 7-0, at The Washington Tennis & Education Foundation's East Capitol Campus.
In doubles play, junior
Nicole Hutchison and freshman
Nathalie Finch served as team's top doubles team where they dropped a close contest against JMU's Elizabeth Norman and Diane Flement, 7-5.
James Madison won the other two doubles matches by identical scores, 6-1.
In singles competition, Finch battled, but lost in straight sets versus the Dukes' Jona Roka (4-6, 5-7).
Fellow classmate
Yassmine Khiri competed in the No. 2 spot but was unable finish her match against Norman due to an apparent shoulder injury.
Coach
Larry Strickland and the Bison have nearly two weeks until their next match at VCU (Feb. 22). First-serve is set for 3 p.m. in Richmond, Va.
