WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Howard women's soccer game against Radford has been officially ruled a "no contest", according to NCAA rules.
The teams were able to play the first 45 minutes of action before heavy rain and lightning delayed the start of the second half and the match was unable to be restarted within the necessary timeframe. Neither team is credited with a win or loss.
Prior to the suspension of the game, the Bison were headed into the locker room with a 2-1 lead. However, the statistics from the game do not count.
Junior Noelle McCullom once again tallied the first goal of the game after she delivered a successful strike on a penalty kick in the 10th minute.
The Highlanders responded with a goal from Jane Everett to tie the game at 1-1.
Junior Kela Gray took the lead back for Howard after she stopped the ball as RU's goalie tried to clear the box and slipped it into the back of the net.
The Bison will try again when they take their first trip of the 2016 campaign to visit Mount St. Mary's on Friday, Aug. 26 at 7 p.m.
