The Howard women's tennis team played a pair of back-to-back matches this weekend facing both the University of Delaware on Saturday evening and Delaware State on Sunday afternoon.  Falling short of victory, the Bison were defeated by the Blue Hens (5-2) but quickly issued a rebuttal to their record defeating the Hornets (4-3) in their first conference match of the season.  

ELKTON, MD --- Notable performances include senior Stacey Roheman pulling out a three-setter (6-3, 3-6, 1-0(8)) versus Amanda Studnicki gaining the first win of the night at No.1 singles against the University of Delaware.  Senior, Umarah Mughnee (No.6) ended the night with a three-set victory (2-6, 6-3, 1-0(6)) and the last point for the Bison.

DOVER, DE --- After the Bison lost the doubles point at the beginning of the match against Delaware State, Roheman (No.1) and junior, Jessica Josiah (No.2) set the tone for singles with straight set wins.  Mughnee (No.5) and freshmen Christina Joynes (No.6) followed suit winning the last two points and propelling the Bison into victory.
