WASHINGTON, DC --- The Howard men's tennis team played a pair of back-to-back matches this weekend against local area competition. The Bison were defeated by Navy (6-1) on Saturday afternoon and William & Mary (7-0) on Sunday to fall to 0-6 overall.

The highlight of the weekend was the play of junior William Jones III against the Midshipmen on Saturday. Jones III was able to earn Howard's lone victory in an exciting three-set match at No. 2 Singles. The New York native dropped his first set against Navy's Andrew Hicks before tying and eventually winning the flight with two tiebreaker set wins. Jones III was also a part of HU's most competitve doubles match, teaming with fellow junior Ismael Kaouache at No. 1 Doubles in a narrow 7-6 (7-3) defeat.
