BALTIMORE, MD --- The Howard University tennis programs traveled to Baltimore on Saturday afternoon for a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) doubleheader against Morgan State University and walked away with a split of the two games.

The Lady Bison were able to hold off the Lady Bears for a 4-3 victory to remain undefeated in MEAC play while the Bison men falted against the Bears in a 6-1 defeat.

WTEN 4, MSU 3
HU (5-6, 4-0 MEAC) was strong in its doubles matches, going a perfect 3-0 to earn its first point. However, the Lady Bison struggled in the top half of its singles lineup. Junior Stacey Roheman took care of her match at No. 1 Singles with a three-set (2-6, 6-3, 6-4) victory but Howard would fall at Nos. 2 and 3 to even the match at 2-2 and make the competiton a best 2-of-3 affair. 

The underclassman-upperclassman duo of sophomore Jessica Josiah and senior Maame Osei proved to be the difference in the contest as each one straight set matches at Nos. 4 and 5, respectively.

MTEN 1, MSU 6
Sophomore Ishmael Kaouache continued his outstanding season for Howard (2-11, 1-2 MEAC) by winning his match at No. 1 Singles, 6-3, 6-3. It was the fourth time this season that Kaouache has earned Howard's only point in defeat.

Although the Bison lost the doubles point, sophomores William Jones III and Laguna Foster, Jr. earned an 8-4 victory in the No. 2 flight.
