ANNAPOLIS, MD --- The Howard men's tennis team suffered its third straight loss to open the spring season, a 6-1 defeat to the United State Naval Academy on Saturday afternoon at the Tose Family Tennis Center.

Sophomore Ismael Kaouache earned Howard's first point of the season at No. 1 Singles with a 6-4, 7-5 triumph of Navy's Tyler Tossavainen. Unfortunately, the victory came with the match all but secured for the host Mids. The Bison (0-3) entered the game shorthanded and conceded the No. 6 Singles and No.3 Doubles flights before the match began.

The closest matches outside of Kaouache's win were at Nos. 3 & 4 as junior Myron Davis and sophomore Laguna Foster, Jr. each won five games in a pair of straight set defeats to Navy (6-1).

Howard will return to action on February 14 with a home matchup against Mount St. Mary at the Washington Tennis & Education Foundation (WTEF).
