Women's Bowling Earns Third Place at Lady Bulldogs Classic

UPDATED SEASON STATS

LAUREL, MD --- Over the weekend, the Howard University women's bowling team posted their best performance of the season, earning a third place finish at the Fred & Edwina Underwood Lady Bulldogs Classic, hosted by Bowie State University.

Howard defeated Morgan State, Virginia State and the host Lady Bulldogs on the final day of competiion to earn the Top 3 distinction.

TOP BOWLER: Junior Moneshia Smith paced the Lady Bison in match play, totaling a pinfall of 931 over five games (186.20 average). Smith also posted HU's highest score in traditional play with a 216 in a win over Hampton.

NEW TO THE FOLD: Sophomore Trinity Yates made a strong debut with the Lady Bison team. The Martinsburg, WV native was second on the team in traditional play with a 915 pinfall, 183.00 average and 213 top score. 

OVER .500: For the first time this season, Howard finished all matches in an event with a record over .500. The Lady Bison went 6-1 in Baker games (including the 3-0 sweep to claim 3rd) and 2-3 in Traditional action.
