NORFOLK, VA --- The Howard University men's and women's tennis teams kicked off the spring tennis season with a pair of matchups against Old Dominion over the weekend.
On Saturday, the Lady Bison squared off with the Lady Monarchs, but eventually fell short, 1-4, after three games went unfinished.
Howard captured its only win in singles action as sophomoreÂ
Stacey Roheman won her #4 flight after ODU's Marijana Novakovic retired.
The Monarchs would defeat the Lady Bison in the other three singles matches that were played, as well as the two doubles matches the teams completed.
On Sunday, the Bison men took the courts and played hard in an eventual 7-0 loss to the Monarchs.
The best showing of the day came from freshman
William Jones, who won three games total against ODU's Dante Terenzio in #2 singles (6-2, 6-1).
Overall, Howard won ten games - seven singles and three doubles - with Jones and freshman
Laguna Foster each winning three singles games.
