NORFOLK, Va. (February 9, 2026) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) unveiled its women's basketball weekly awards where Howard University freshman standout
Ariella Henigan (Chicago) collected the league's Rookie of the Week. The announcement came Monday afternoon.
Henigan filled the stat sheet in Saturday's (Feb. 7) home win over South Carolina State, finishing with 12 points, four rebounds, three assists, three steals and one block.
Currently, she ranks among the conference leaders in free throw percentage at 78-percent (69-of-88).
Senior forwards
Nile Miller (Woodbury, N.J.) and
Zennia Thomas (Cleveland) earned honorable mention for their efforts against the Bulldogs.
Coppin State guard Khila Morris was named MEAC Player of the Week while North Carolina Central forward Aniya Finger earned Defensive Player of the Week.
Howard travels to Dover, Del., to take on the Hornets of Delaware State Thursday (Feb. 12) at 6 p.m.
