Thomas Racks Up More Postseason Awards

Cleveland native earns All-ECAC Second Team

DANBURY, Conn. (March 25, 2026) – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) revealed its 2026 Division I Women's Basketball All-ECAC Teams and major awards where Howard University senior forward Zennia Thomas (Cleveland) racked up more postseason awards. The announcement came Wednesday morning.
 
 The Cleveland native earned a spot on the All-ECAC Second Team.
 
Thomas, who was named BOXTOROW HBCU Division I Women's Player of the Year Thursday (March 19), became the 10th Bison in program history to win MEAC (Mid-Eastern Ahtletic Conference) Player of the Year after topping the league in scoring (15.2 ppg), rebounding (7.9 rpg) and field goal shooting percentage (.451). Nationally, she finished the regular season ranked among the country leaders in free throw attempts (12th) and free throws made (22nd).
 
Maine forward Adrianna Smith was voted ECAC Player of the Year while Siena College freshman Francesca Schiro was named Rookie of the Year. FDU head coach Stephanie Gaitley garnered Coach of the Year.
 
Howard looks to build on this year's success for the upcoming 2026-27 campaign.
