NORFOLK, Va. (February 16, 2026) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) revealed its softball weekly honors where Howard University graduate infielder
Taylor Ames-Alexander (Lancaster, S.C.) won the league's Player of the Week. The announcement came Monday afternoon.
At the annual HBCU Invitational (Feb. 13-15) in Covington, Ga., Taylor batted .429 with nine RBIs, five runs scored and three homers while leading the Bison to a 3-1 mark.
Currently, Ames-Alexander leads the MEAC in homers (3) and RBIs (14), which ranks 37
th in the country.
North Carolina Central's Kendal Daniels was selected MEAC Rookie of the Week while Norfolk State's Kailey Bryant was named Pitcher of the Week.
On Feb. 20-22, HU travels to Baton Rouge, La., to compete in the Purple & Gold Challenge, hosted by LSU.
