NORFOLK, Va. (February 16, 2026) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) uncovered its men's basketball weekly accolades where Howard University saw a pair of Bison acknowledged for their efforts against Yale (Feb. 9) and Maryland Eastern Shore (Feb. 14). The announcement came Monday afternoon.
Junior guard
Cedric Taylor III (Atlanta) won MEAC Player of the Week for the second straight week while graduate guard
Bryce Harris (Brentwood, N.Y.) took home the league's Defensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.
During the two-game span, Taylor averaged 20.0 points, including a perfect 16-of-16 from the free-throw line, while adding nine rebounds, eight assists and four steals. In Saturday's victory over Maryland Eastern Shore, the Atlanta native produced 22 points, six dimes and four boards while going a flawless 10-of-10 from the charity stripe.
Harris anchored the Bison defensively, totaling 10 rebounds, five blocks and four steals on the week. Offensively, he contributed 15.5 points per game and six total assists.
Coppin State guard Daveyon Lydner was selected MEAC Rookie of the Week.
Howard returns home Saturday (Feb. 21) against the Eagles of North Carolina Central. Game time is set for noon.
