NORFOLK, Va. (January 26, 2026) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) uncovered its women's basketball weekly accolades where Howard University freshman standout
Ariella Henigan (Chicago) won the league's Rookie of the Week. The announcement came Monday afternoon.
Henigan averaged 10.0 points and 2.5 steals in the victories over Coppin State (Jan. 22) and Morgan State (Jan. 24). She posted 10 points and four steals in the road win at CSU (Coppin State). Saturday, the Chicago native followed up with another 10-point performance while shooting 50-percent (3-of-6) from the field, including 50-percent (2-of-4) from downtown.
Senior forward
Zennia Thomas (Cleveland) received honorable mention after averaging 17.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks against the Eagles and Lady Bears.
Norfolk State guard Da'Brya Clark was named MEAC Player of the Week while fellow Spartan forward Carmen Kweti earned Defensive Player of the Week.
Howard hosts Norfolk State, the defending MEAC Champions, in a key matchup Saturday (Jan. 31) at 1 p.m., inside Burr Gymnasium.
