MATCHUP PREVIEW
HOWARD
Howard (0-3-1) is still searching for its first win of the season and looking to regroup after a tough 1-0 road defeat at UMBC on Labor Day (Sept. 1).
In the most recent contest,
Onarae Rice (Greenville, S.C.) led the offense with three of the team's four total shots.
Daniil Kaban (Kharkiv, Ukraine) added one shot of his own.
Between the posts,
Liam Keiller (Gaithersburg, Md.) stood tall despite facing heavy pressure, notching seven saves on 22 shots faced.
The match was highly physical, featuring 28 fouls, three yellow cards and one red card.
Howard will look to sharpen its attack and build offensive rhythm in its final road match before returning home.
RADFORD
Radford (0-2-1) comes into the contest looking to bounce back from a 2-0 home defeat to Elon earlier in the week (Sept. 2).
Despite the score line, Radford outpaced Elon in set pieces with an 11-3 advantage in corner kicks. Ben Miller recorded two saves, including a highlight penalty kick stop in the first half — the program's first since September 2024.
On the offensive side, Carter McClain and Christian Robertson each tallied shots on goal, signaling the Highlanders' intent to press forward against Howard.
LAST TIMEOUT
On Sept. 1, Howard fell to a red-hot UMBC team (1-0) after conceding a goal less than one minute into the match. Despite strong defensive play from Keiller and gritty effort in midfield, the Bison were unable to find the back of the net.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
Following Saturday's match at Radford, the Bison return to Greene Stadium for a home contest against the University of Delaware Saturday (Sept. 13) at 1 p.m., available on NEC Front Row.
