EUGENE, Ore. (August 3, 2025) – The Toyota USATF Outdoor & Para National Championships wrapped up Sunday afternoon in Eugene, Ore., where former Howard University standout
Dylan Beard (Baltimore) punched his ticket to the 2025 Toyoko World Championships.
Beard reached the 110-meter hurdles final round, posting a time of 13.04 while finishing third overall. Earlier this year, he defended his title at the 2025 Millrose Games with a 7.38 mark in the 60-meter hurdles.
Ja'kobe Tharp and Cordell Tinch join Beard in Toyoko after placing first (13.01) and second (13.03), respectively. The trio will represent Team USA.
Other notable performances included two-time All-American
Jessica Wright (Durham, N.C.) and two-time MEAC Champion
Ariana Smith (Pennsville, N.J.) competing in the 400-meter hurdles where they came up just short of reaching Toyoko, finishing fifth (55.81) and eighth (56.85), respectively.
Across the pond, All-Americans
Marcia Sey (London, United Kingdom) and
Samuel Bennett (Langdon Hills, United Kingdom) made the 100-meter hurdles final round but fell short of qualifying.
Beard, a three-time MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Champion, is set to compete in the 2025 Tokyo World Championships (Sept. 13-21).
