WASHINGTON (May 15, 2025) – Howard University track and field program is set to compete in the 2025 MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Outdoor Championships. The three-day event (May 15-17) takes place at Dick Price Stadium in Norfolk, Va., hosted by Norfolk State University (NSU).

Saturday's (May 17) action will be streamed on

MEET PREVIEW
All eight MEAC institutions will be competing in Norfolk: Howard; Norfolk State; Coppin State; Delaware State; Maryland Eastern Shore; Morgan State; North Carolina Central and South Carolina State.
The 2025 MEAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships starts Thursday (May 15) with the men's decathlon at 1 p.m., followed by women's decathlon at 1:15 p.m. To conclude opening day, the meet ends with the women's 10K-meter run at 7 p.m., and men's 10K-meter run at 7:45 p.m.
Friday (May 16) commences with the men's & women's decathlon, beginning at 9 a.m., to finish up their race. Field events begin at 11:30 a.m., and end at 2 p.m., for running events to start at 2:50 p.m., opening with the women's 100-meter hurdles preliminaries. The women's 3K-meter steeplechase takes place at 5:35 p.m., followed by the men's 3K-meter steeplechase ending the day at 6 p.m.
Championship Saturday kicks off at 10 a.m., with events, such as women's pole vault, men's triple jump and women's javelin. To end the three-day event, the women's 4x400 relay commences at 4:35 p.m., followed by the men's 4x400 relay at 4:55 p.m.
The awards ceremony will follow the conclusion of the men's 4x400-meter relay. The top three finishers in each event will be named All-MEAC honorees.
Select throwing events, such as the discus, hammer throw and javelin will be held at the NSU football practice field while the shot put takes place just outside of Dick Price Stadum, to the left behind the press box.
Entering the meet, HU women look to four-peat as outdoor champions while the Bison men are seeking their first-ever MEAC outdoor championship.
LAST TIMEOUT
On May 2-3, Howard competed in the Aggie Classic, hosted by North Carolina A&T State.
In the field, senior
Kyle Fisher (Duluth, Ga.) won the long jump, leaping over 24 feet (7.42 meters).
On the track, graduate
Noah Langford (Virginia Beach, Va.), newcomer
Justin Watterson (Las Vegas) and senior
Amon-Ra Watkins (Bronx, N.Y.) competed in the short hurdles (110-meters), placing third (13.91/season-best), fourth (14.21/personal best) and fifth (14.54), respectively.
For the women, seniors
Camille Egbula (Simpsonville, S.C.) and
Joslyn Crosby (Bossier City, La.) took first (17:36.96) and second (18:24.88), respectively, in the 5K run.
In the field, graduate
Erin Hatcher (Silver Spring, Md.) led the way with a victory in the hammer throw (57.51 meters).
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
On May 28-31, several Bison travel to Jacksonville, Fla., for the NCAA East Preliminary Rounds.
