WASHINGTON (April 15, 2025) - Howard University Track & Field will be competing across the country in three different meets from April 16-18. The trio of events will be hosted in Baltimore by Morgan State University (MSU), Charlottesville, Va., by the University of Virginia and Gainesville, Fla., by the University of Florida, respectively.

At the Morgan State Legacy, the action will take place April 17-18 at Earl C. Banks Field at Hughes Stadium. Competition begins Friday, April 17, at noon with the hammer throw, followed by the javelin later that afternoon at 3:30 p.m. This event will also serve as a special Senior Day ceremony at 3:30 p.m., Saturday (April 18).

In Gainesville, HU will be competing at the Percy Beard Track (April 16-18). Competition begins Thursday, April 16, at 11:30 a.m., with the women's heptathlon, followed by the women's 200-meter dash the next day.

Down in Charlottesville, the action will take place at Lannigan Field (April 16-18). Competition begins Thursday, April 16, at 5 p.m., with the women's javelin throw, immediately followed by the men's javelin.

Mihaly Akpamgbo sit in third with a time of 40.75. Furthermore, Greene, Grant, McKindra and Gaines make up the first-place 4x400 relay time of 3:08.

Drew Dillard (Silver Spring, Md.) holds the current first place in the high jump with a mark of 2.15 meters.

Sean Wray (Stafford, Va.) is currently ranked first in both the long jump and the triple jump with respective marks of 7.22 meters and 15.35 meters.

Both the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams are first in the conference with marks of 43.95 and 3:34, respectively. The 4x100 team consists of Gray-Williams, Sey, Lyons and Robinson while the 4x400 team consists of Turner, Woodruff, Billups and Johnson.

Kelis Armstrong (Plano, Texas) and
Ija Mumford (Winston-Salem, N.C.) hold second (12.13m) and fifth (11.81m), respectively. Armstrong also sits fourth in the long jump with a mark of 5.75 meters.

Temi Banwo (Allen, Texas) holds first in shot put (14.25 meters) and second in the discus (43.81 meters) and hammer throw (47.46 meters). Sophomore
Kinnidi Hampton (Rowlette, Texas) holds third in the shot put (12.63 meters), third in the discus (40.24 meters) and fourth in the hammer throw (44.35 meters).

HU last competed at the annual Bison Classic (April 11), co-hosted alongside the Gallaudet Bison. This one-day saw both squads take home first place.
