BALTIMORE (April 18, 2026) – Howard University men's track & field competed across three states over the weekend, taking part in the Tom Jones Memorial (April 16-18), hosted by the Florida Gators, Virginia Challenge (April 17-18), hosted by the Cavaliers, and Morgan State Legacy (April 17-18), hosted by the Bears.
TOM JONES MEMORIAL
In the field, fifth-year Bison
Sean Wray (Stafford, Va.) finished fourth overall in the triple jump after leaping 15.04 meters (49'4.25").
DMV native sophomore
Drew Dillard (Silver Spring, Md.) placed eighth in the high jump (2.06 meters).
On the track, sophomore
Elijah Grant (Fort Mill, S.C.) took sixth in the 400-meter dash after running 46.33 seconds.
VIRGINIA CHALLENGE

Kaleb Berry (Duncanville, Texas), senior
Kobe Hutson (Bridgetown, Barbados), sophomore
Paul Robinson (Bowie, Md.) and freshman
Ashton Thomas (Greensboro, N.C.) earned eighth overall, clocking in at 3:19.54.
MORGAN STATE LEGACY
Sophomore
Solomon Young (Charlotte, N.C.) headlined the Bison in Baltimore, placing top 5 in three events. He finished second (15.32 meters), third (44.39 meters) and fifth (44.25 meters), respectively, in the shot put, discus and hammer. Fellow classmate
Benjamin Hilliard (Indianapolis) also competed in the hammer, earning eighth overall (40.93 meters).
D.C. native rookie
Roman Mills took sixth (6.79 meters) and eighth (13.90 meters), respectively, in the long jump and triple jump.
On the track, freshman standout
Jabari Dillard (Cross Hill, S.C.) placed second in the 110-meter hurdles (14.28).
Sprinter
Mihaly Akpamgbo secured fifth (10.45) and sixth (21.42), respectively, in the 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
On April 23-25, HU goes to the City of Brotherly Love for the prestigious Penn Relays.
