WASHINGTON (April 11, 2026) – Howard University men's track & field program claimed the 2026 Bison Classic title in D.C. The annual event was co-hosted by HU and Gallaudet.
For the second consecutive year, Howard took home the crown after tallying 130 points with six victories.
Graduate
Abraham Evans (Virginia Beach, Va.) and newcomers
Armond Boulware (Chicago),
Jabari Dillard (Cross Hill, S.C.) and
Mihaly Akpamgbo represented Bison Nation in the 4x100 relay, winning the race with a 40.92 time.
Individually, Evans won a pair of races in the 100-meter dash (10.42) and 200-meter dash (21.52).
Senior
Kobe Hutson (Bridgetown, Barbados) claimed gold in the 400-meter dash, clocking in at 50.29.
Fifth-year Bison
Kaleb Berry (Duncanville, Texas) finished first in the 800-meter run, producing a 1:53.80 mark.
Other noteworthy performances on the track included senior
Jorim Bangue (Yaounde, Cameroon) placing second in the 110-meter hurdles (14.69) and second-year Bison
Paul Robinson (Bowie, Md.) grabbing sixth in the 1500-meter run (4:01.90).
In the field, rookie
Roman Mills (Washington) won gold in the long jump (6.67 meters). The D.C. native and fellow classmate
Martin Ohakah (Glen Burnie, Md.) competed in the triple jump, landing second (14.20 meters) and fifth (13.57 meters), respectively.
Sophomores
Solomon Young (Charlotte, N.C.) and
Benjamin Hilliard (Indianapolis) took part in the shot put, earning second (14.70 meters) and sixth (12.55 meters), respectively.
Other notable performance in the field included freshman
Maltius Morrissey (Tampa, Fla.) claiming fourth overall in the pole vault (3.72 meters).
Catholic finished runner-up with 81 points, followed by George Washington (71 points).
HU heads down to Gainesville, Fla., to compete in the Tom Jones Memorial (April 17-18), hosted by the Florida Gators.
