PHILADELPHIA (April 26, 2025) – Howard University women's track & field team shined at the prestigious Penn Relays (April 24-25) in Philadelphia, earning multiple top 3 finishes in relay events.
In the field, junior
Jazmyn Wajd (Tampa, Fla.) highlighted the three-day event, winning the triple jump (12.33 meters). Fellow classmate
Ija Mumford (Winston-Salem, N.C.) also took part, landing sixth overall (11.96 meters).
Graduate
Erin Hatcher (Silver Spring, Md.) earned fifth place in the hammer throw, tossing nearly 199 feet (60.56 meters).
On the track, juniors
Kiya Lawson (Montclair, N.J.) and
Zoe Turner (Mableton, Ga.) and sophomore
Mackenzie Robinson (Ypsilanti, Mich.) and newcomer
Brooke Cochran (Silver Spring, Md.) competed in the 4x200 relay where they finished second overall (1:33.89).

Ariana Smith (Pennsville, N.J.) and junior
Aniya Woodruff (Harrisburg, N.C.) took home bronze in the 4x400 relay, clocking in at 3:32.81.
The sprint medley squad of Cochran, Turner and rookies
Cenaiya Billups (Denver) and
Tiffany Mugubi (Houston) placed third overall with a 3:53.03 mark.
Graduates
Kailei Collins (Houston) and
Marcia Sey (London, United Kingdom) and senior
Tiffani-Rae Pittman (Bowie, Md.) and sophomore
Aiyana Gray-Williams (Winston-Salem, N.C.) grabbed third in the 4x100 relay, recording a 44.31 time.
Individually, Sey finished fourth in the short hurdles (100-meter) with a 13.20 time.
Smith took fifth place in the 400-meter hurdles (57.71) while Collins earned sixth in the 100-meter dash (11.63).
HU gears up for the Aggie Classic (May 2-3), hosted by fellow HBCU North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, N.C. This will the final outdoor meet ahead of the 2025 MEAC (Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) Outdoor Championships (May 15-17) in Norfolk, Va.
