HISTORY
The Goodwin was held at the Stanford Golf Course in San Francisco. A year ago, Howard finished 29
th overall, shooting 46-over par (886).
TOURNAMENT PREVIEW
The Stanford Golf Course is a public course in San Francisco. In 1930, the golf course was designed by George C. Thomas and Billy Bell Jr., featuring a par-70 and 6,727-yardage. The course has hosted events like the U.S. Open Qualifies and NCAA Championships.
This year's tournament participants include Howard, Stanford, Colorado, Oregon, Arkansas, Utah, San Francisco, BYU, SMU, Georgia, California (Berkeley), UCLA, Loyola, Clemson, Northwestern, Freson State, LMU, Pepperdine, San Jose State, Colorado, Lipscomb, Santa Clara, California State (Long Beach), California Polytechnic, Washington State, TCU, Wofford, Nevada and Washington.
LAST TIMEOUT
On March 24-25, HU competed in the Bridgestone Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Central Michigan, taking 12
th overall in the event.
Fifth-year golfer
Marcus Smith Jr. (Rockford, Ill.) led the way, firing 10-over par (226) and tying for 45th place.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
Howard takes a short break before traveling to Kannapolis, N.C., for the Irish Creek Collegiate (April 7-8), hosted by Appalachian State.
