NORFOLK, Va. (December 22, 2025) – The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) revealed its women's basketball weekly honors where Howard University saw a pair of Bison acknowledged for their outstanding efforts in the wins over Cincinnati (Dec. 16) and St. Bonaventure (Dec. 20). The announcement came Monday morning.
Senior forward
Zennia Thomas (Cleveland) won MEAC Player of the Week while freshman standout
Ariella Henigan (Chicago) collected the league's Rookie of the Week.
Thomas averaged 16.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists while leading the Bison to a perfect 2-0 mark. In the road win at Cincy, she notched her fifth double-double of the season (10 points & 10 boards) while producing 22 points and eight rebounds in the home victory over the Bonnies.
For Henigan, she filled the stat sheet against Cincy with 10 points, five dimes, three steals and three boards. In the win over St. Bonaventure, the Chicago product registered 19 points, including a perfect 11-for-11 at the charity stripe, four assists, four rebounds and three steals.
Norfolk State forward Ciara Bailey earned MEAC Defensive Player of the Week.
Howard travels to West Point, N.Y. to take on Army Monday (Dec. 29) at noon.
